Here’s why, You don’t know shit!
Ok, I’m gonna get it out, right at the beginning -
“YOU…….yes, YOU…. don’t know shiiiiiiiyyt”
You think you do, but actually…..”YOU DON’T”. And neither do I.
None of us do.
Now let me back these harsh words up, a little.
So, over this weekend a few of my relatives visited us. They were mostly old people, may be in their 80’s or something.
Unlike most of us who find old people to be annoying, I actually find myself being interested in them.
I mean these people:
- lived in a time when Mobile phones and Instagram weren’t a thing,
- they barely knew anything about Space,
- in fact there were no Fans, AC’s, Televisions and Computers, in their life.
- thousands of people were still dying of famines, plagues and wars.
- a lot them were being killed by Tuberculosis and Small pox.
“I mean can you imagine that, we don’t even get vaccinated for TB anymore.”
I sat there observing them, as they talked about the time when they were born, how they had to come to the city searching for work and couldn’t speak to their wives back home, in the village, for like 2 years.
I mean, which modern relationship can survive that?
Gradually the topic drifted towards Religion and God and Creation.
And man-o-man….. was I amused by what they believed to be true.
They had all these weird theories about how “God created Humans” and how all humans have an “Eternal Soul” that goes to “God” after we die and yada yada yada. And what was amusing was, all this wasn’t a theory for them, it was their truth.
I mean if Science and Evolution were present in that room, they would have undoubtedly killed themselves. On one hand our Scientists are butting heads, trying to understand Evolution more, so that we can make better decisions for humanity, while on the other , most human beings think that God created us. And where the hell is the soul, we have scanned every nook and corner of the human body.
This got me thinking deeply about how Humans in spite of being “The most Intelligent species” on this planet are actually so stupid.
As a species we love to “Jump on Conclusions”. Instead of basing our thinking on Evidence, we base it on Faith.
Most religions even today don’t care an iota about what Science says. We just “know” how everything happened.
(Who cares about Scientists and what they have to say, they are just a bunch of geeks, playing a puzzle and failing at getting all the pieces together right!)
I mean yes, it’s true that Science doesn’t have an answer to the biggest questions about our existence yet.
But isn’t that the whole point of life?
-To uncover and discover things. And that’s the basis of every scientific research ever.
And it’s not just about our religions and religious beliefs, we love to conclude everything, even in our day to day lives too.
I have seen people conclude, what they are gonna do for the rest of their lives, when they were just 21 or may be even younger.
We keep concluding who we are, what our beliefs are, what we wanna do with the rest of our lives, what we think is the right way to live life and so on and so forth.
During tough times, we wind up with beliefs like, “Life is hard”, or that we have a bad luck, or we are this way because we were raised like this.
We are just desperately looking for answers to things in our lives, not to discover but to put a full stop, so we can finally live in peace and won’t have to scratch our heads over something.
Putting that full stop is easy.
You won’t have to face the constant restlessness of having so many questions.
You won’t even have to put the effort to face the hardship and to find real and meaningful answers.
All you will have to do is find something, something stupid and trivial, most of the times, and just conclude *full stop*.
A blind person with an eyesight throughout your life”.
Nothing will bother you once you just conclude it.
But everything in life, is Inconclusive, cause nothing stays the way it is. Everything evolves and changes, every damn thing on this planet and this cosmos.
What you believe to be true today is going to be another error of faith tomorrow. May be even evidences might mislead you.
But “That is the true spirit of life and also of Science”.
Scientist are okay with being restless, with making tons of mistake and with being misled, but they do not settle just on faith alone.
Life is a process of constant revelations and realisations, that’s what makes it magical doesn’t it! The restlessness and uncertainty actually keeps us alive on the inside.
If there are a 1000 pieces to a puzzle and you only have 3 pieces, how can you form a full picture with just 3 pieces?
And if you think you can, then “You are delusional”.
In Conclusion -
You don’t know shiiiyyt, so erase that full stop, get your butt up and start experimenting with life, start looking for evidences for your beliefs.
And remember whatever you find, wouldn’t be permanent.
And if you conclude, there will be no room left for life to surprise you.
